Alma’s Royal Weight Loss Tea from the Alma Holistic Health Kitchen
Ingredients:
- 3 Ceylon cinnamon sticks
- 3-4 cups water brought to a boil
- 1 tablespoon Pu-erh tea (loose leaf)
- 1 teaspoon of raw honey if sweetner desired
Pu-erh is traditionally ‘rinsed’ before being steeped. This is done with a quick application of hot water that is poured over the tea in the teapot and then immediately poured out. It is believed that many Pu-erh connossieurs do not drink this 1st steeping, but use it only to help the leaves open.
Add cinnamon sticks and 3-4 cups of hot water that just reached the boiling point and pour over the Pu-erh tea that has been initially rinsed. Let steep for 3-4 minutes. Try using a basket-filter, tea sac, or even letting your leaves free in the bottom of the pot and filtering the infusion when the steeping is complete.
If any sweetner is desired, add a teaspoon of raw honey to a cup of Pu-erh tea.
Sip while hot to enjoy the complexity and richness in flavors.
